Leadership Rochester is a pioneer in providing civic leadership education in the greater Rochester community. Created as a collaborative effort among the city’s top leaders in 1991, our organization actively engages key players in the area who possess strong leadership potential in their professional and personal life.
The Leadership Rochester signature program is dedicated to creating a legacy of leaders who will continue to promote growth and facilitate positive change within the greater Rochester region. This nine-month, tuition-based program connects emerging, and existing leaders, in our community to area leaders in an effort to foster positive change. The program broaches a myriad of complex issues surrounding our community, stimulating participants’ minds with hopes they’ll continue the conversation long after their time with Leadership Rochester.
Based on the model of the successful adult program, the Emerging Leaders program is designed for high school students with a thirst for knowledge and a desire to lead. Our eight-session course is essentially a compressed version of the adult program experience, engaging approximately 20 students from school districts across the greater Rochester/Finger Lakes region to learn more about their surroundings. The group meets at varied key sites in our area to hear from local leaders while addressing pertinent community issues.
