February’s Health & Wellness Day was held at Coordinated Care Services, Inc. on Jay St. We were graciously joined by Anne Wilder (CEO of CCSI), Joseph Searles (Corporate Director of Diversity & Inclusion at Excellus) and Jeff Davis (Senior Associate Director of Executive Education of the Saunders College of Business at RIT), all who opened the day with us.
While Mother Nature forced an abbreviated agenda, program participants still garnered much knowledge about how the healthcare system works, how policies shape direction, innovative approaches within the field and the shift from traditional means to a more open-minded health and wellness approach.

Dr. Bridgette Wiefling, Senior Vice President of the Primary Care Institute at Rochester Regional Health, spoke about how federal and state policies are affecting today’s healthcare. Elizabeth Meeker, Vice President of Consulting Services at CCSI, spoke about trauma-informed care and the impact adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) have on our community. Laura Gustin, Director of Monroe County Systems Integration Project at the United Way, discussed implementing design and systems thinking into health and human practices.
We were also fortunate to have Shaquana Divers, Executive Program Manager at Excellus BlueCross BlueShield, moderate a panel of key players within the healthcare community. We were honored to include Dr. Nancy Bennett, Director for the Center for Community Health and Prevention at the University of Rochester Medical Center, as well as Dr. Janice Harbin, CEO of Jordan Health, Matt Kuhlenbeck, CEO of the Greater Rochester Health Foundation and Melissa Wilson, Vice President of Customer Engagement of EZ Access MD. Each shared innovations their teams are making as key contributors to the health and wellness of those living in the greater Rochester area.
Special Thanks to our Health and Wellness Day Sponsor: Excellus BlueCross BlueShield.
